November at MDC: From Artistic Residencies to the Premiere of DivaGOAT

November at the Mediterranean Dance Center brings new artistic residencies, dance in virtual reality and the premiere of Natalija Manojlović Varga’s latest production.

As part of MDC’s residency programme, Matija Ferlin is working with Goran Ferčec on SAD SAM PPP, a performance exploring the final 48 hours of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s life. Circus artists Petra Najman and Ivan Svaguša are developing Corvus Obscura, a project selected among the 10 finalists of the European circusnext platform this year. Work also continues on Natalija Manojlović Varga’s DivaGOAT, or Scenes from High Society, which will be presented to audiences at the end of the month.

Our final public programme weekend of 2026, on 28 and 29 November, features 2 VR performances, a creative workshop for children and a new theatre premiere. On Saturday, 28 November, we present Unfolded Moments by Enya Belak and Kristýna Peldova, and Telos 360 by Ermira Goro and Hannes Langolf. Presented as part of the international Moving Balkans platform, the two works explore different ways of bringing choreography, performance and virtual reality together.

On Sunday, 29 November, we present the premiere of DivaGOAT, or Scenes from High Society, a non-verbal theatrical fable for the whole family, directed and choreographed by Natalija Manojlović Varga. Performed by Petra Chelfi, Andreja Jandrić, Jure Radnić, Petra Valentić and Mateo Videk, the production uses humour, movement and the story of a small goat community disrupted by the arrival of a popular diva to explore belonging, rivalry and the values that shape our relationships. Ahead of the performance, MuVu – Little Artist = Great Artist offers primary school children a creative workshop exploring different aspects of theatre-making through movement, acting and play.

For those eager to experience dance before the final programme weekend, Dancescapes, a 360° VR film directed by Enya Belak and created as part of the international Danube Dance Alliance project, is available for individual viewing at the Svetvinčenat Tourist Board from 6 November. The film brings together 5 choreographic works filmed in different locations, including San Vincenti. Thanks to our collaboration with the Tourist Board, visitors can choose their preferred viewing time during opening hours until the end of the year.
