Residency - Matija Ferlin & Goran Ferčec: SAD SAM PPP

Among the artists who regularly work at the Mediterranean Dance Center, Matija Ferlin holds a special place. Born in San Vincenti, he has maintained a close connection with the centre over the years. This November, he continues working here with Goran Ferčec on SAD SAM PPP, which will premiere in Ljubljana on 19 November. We look forward to presenting the performance at MDC in 2027.

About the Performance

SAD SAM PPP is a performance project that uses reverse chronology as its dramaturgical principle to explore the final forty-eight hours of Pier Paolo Pasolini's life. Taking the moment of death as its starting point, the narrative moves backwards through different manifestations of Pasolini's possible bodies: the social being, the intellectual and the private individual. His dead body is repeatedly restored to a living body of resistance, thought and intellectual drive.

By bringing Pasolini back to life, the work releases him from the moment of his violent death as the defining event of his martyr-like biography, re-establishing him as homo faber, a living creator of ideas. With the director-performer guiding the collective body of the audience, the heavily charged narrative surrounding Pasolini's death is transformed, through a shared process, from historical biography into a collective act of vigil, remembrance and the renewed assertion of thought and resistance.
