June in San Vincenti

In June, the MPC programme moves from stand-up and psychopolitics through contemporary circus to a summer dance intensive focused on authorial and performative work.
In June, San Vincenti hosts artists from Slovenia and Palestine, while the end of the month is reserved for workshops intended for professional dancers, performing arts students, performers, and everyone interested in intensive work through body and movement.
The San Vincenti Dances programme continues on June 12 with Slovenian artist Jan Rozman and his performance WETWARE, a work that combines stand-up, choreography, and contemporary theory to question the autonomy of the body within surveillance capitalism. The performance was selected as a PAN-ADRIA network production for the 2025/26 season. The Mediterranean Dance Center is one of the network partners alongside contemporary dance organisations and venues from Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy. In WETWARE, Rozman uses humour as a tool for questioning the relationship between the body, technology, and systems of control, moving from personal experience towards a broader social context.
A day later, on June 13, the programme continues at Castle Grimani with the Palestinian Circus and their performance SARAB. At a moment when images of displacement, borders, and humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine have become part of our everyday reality, SARAB speaks about exile, loss, and uncertainty through contemporary circus and physical theatre. The performance is part of a wider international tour, and can also be seen in Croatia at Cirkobalkana Festival (31 May, Zagreb) and Festival fragmenti cirkusa (2 June, Split), before continuing to Ljubljana and the Klovnbuf festival, and later to Udine, Bologna, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam.
The end of June at MPC is reserved for the summer intensive; Sonja Pregrad leads the workshop Dance as Material, dedicated to improvisation, instant composition, and the development of authorial work through body and movement, while Borna Babić through Paperbridge workshop explores physical theatre, partnering, and the relationship between emotion, intention, and movement.
The workshops can be attended independently while also being part of the ARTivacija* educational programme, organised by MPC in collaboration with the organisation Katana.
Alongside individual applications, participants can also apply for joint packages including both workshops, accommodation, and an additional performance programme at the beginning of July. Applications for the workshops are open until June 15 or until all places are filled. Hurry up and see you there!
