ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
“We were forced; we had no other option. Dragged towards an uncertain end, along a road filled with obstacles and checkpoints we could barely pass, our destiny unknown. Throughout the long and arduous journey, we kept dreaming of the moment we would arrive, continuing onwards into the unknown.

At last, we arrive. Have we reached our destination? After crossing lands and oceans, we discover the unexpected. It was nothing but a mirage.”

SARAB (“A Mirage”) is a theatre-circus piece created in 2017 to highlight the difficulties faced by refugees around the world. Through contemporary circus and physical theatre, the Palestinian performers reflect on their own history and its ongoing repetition in the lives of millions today.
