July in San Vincenti - are you joining us?

July begins with intensive work in the studio. From June 29 to July 3, workshops led by Sonja Pregrad and Borna Babić will bring together professional dancers, performing arts students, performers, and anyone interested in developing their artistic and performative practice through movement and the body. In her workshop Dance as Material, Sonja Pregrad explores improvisation, instant composition, and the development of creative tools, while Borna Babić's Paperbridge Workshop draws on physical theatre, the relationship between intention, emotion and movement, and partner work.
On July 4, Borna Babić returns together with Eliana Stragapede to present AMAE NO KŌZŌ, a performance that explores co-dependency, the need to belong, and the complex relationship between intimacy and autonomy. Based in Brussels and founders of the Paper Bridge company, Eliana and Borna developed part of the work during a residency at the Mediterranean Dance Center.
The following day, on July 5, San Vincenti becomes one of the locations of the international Danube Dance Alliance project. The evening brings together the premiere of Recyclism by choreographer Ognjen Vučinić, dance miniatures by Maša Kolar, Aleksandar Saša Ilić, Nik Rajšek and Branko Mitrović, and the premiere of the VR film Dancescapes directed by Enya Belak. Through contemporary dance and virtual reality, the project connects artists and spaces across several countries in the region, with Svetvinčenat being one of five locations where the programme unfolds throughout 2026.
On July 11, MPC welcomes Louise Lecavalier, one of the most influential figures in contemporary dance of the past decades. The Canadian dancer and choreographer, long recognised as the iconic face of La La La Human Steps, will perform her recent solo danses vagabondes in San Vincenti. The following day, she will lead a masterclass open to professional dancers, students, and all interested participants.
The second half of July returns the focus to process, research and knowledge-sharing. As part of the MPC residency programme, workshops for the local community will be led by Ivana Pavlović and Ana Kreitmeyer, as well as Dora Pocedić and Linda Tarnovski. These encounters with resident artists are part of our ongoing effort to make artistic processes more visible and to connect artists and the local community through exchange, participation and direct experience.
From workshops and residencies to international guest performances and new productions, July in San Vincenti once again highlights MPC as a place where artists, audiences and diverse approaches to contemporary dance come together.
