Masterclass by Louise Lecavalier - 12.7.2026.

Following the performance of danses vagabondes, the Mediterranean Dance Center will host a masterclass by Louise Lecavalier, one of the most significant figures in contemporary dance over the past decades.
A dancer and choreographer who helped shape the history of La La La Human Steps and collaborated with artists such as Édouard Lock, David Bowie and Frank Zappa, Lecavalier will share part of her extensive experience through a workshop open to all interested participants.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The workshop consists of a training session that includes elements of boxing and basic sports training, as well as simple, dynamic and natural movements that help develop strength, control and endurance.
In the second part of the workshop, participants will learn choreographic material that requires speed of execution, precision and coordination.
The workshop includes: 90 minutes of training / 15-minute break / 15-minute discussion with the artist.
No specific prerequisites are required. The workshop is open to participants of all experience levels.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Louise Lecavalier is a Canadian dancer and choreographer who joined La La La Human Steps in 1981 and soon became the company's iconic figure. During nearly two decades of collaboration with Édouard Lock, she developed a distinctive performance style that earned her international recognition and established her as one of the most influential dancers of her generation.
As a member of La La La Human Steps, she participated in numerous international collaborations, including projects with the Bolshoi Ballet, David Bowie, Frank Zappa and Nam June Paik.
In 2006, she founded her own company, Fou Glorieux, through which she continues to develop her choreographic work. Her productions So Blue, Mille Batailles, STATIONS and the recent danses vagabondes have toured extensively and been presented at major international festivals and venues.
She has received numerous international awards and distinctions, including the Denise-Pelletier Prize awarded by the Government of Quebec, the Choreographic Award of the French Syndicate of Critics, the Leonide Massine Award, and the title of Officière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of the French Republic.
