Residency Matea Bilosnić: Never Together - public presentation 18.4.2026.

Matea Bilosnić is in residence at the Mediterranean Dance Center in April, together with collaborators, where she is developing the new project Never Together.
This choreographic research builds on her previous works from the Never series (Never ALLone, Never Again) and is developed in collaboration with artists from different disciplines. As part of the residency, a public presentation of the research will take place, followed by a discussion with the audience.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The choreographic research Never Together is developed in collaboration with dancer and PhD candidate in English studies Nataša Kustura, multimedia artist and psychologist Josip Kresović, dramaturge Nikolina Rafaj, and cinematographer and photographer Vedran Husremović.
The Never series explores the ephemeral nature of performing arts and questions the ways in which they are documented and archived. This research focuses on the development and tracking of choreographic methodology through autoethnographic approaches, shaped by the individual practices of artists from different disciplines.
The focus is on collective creative work and the questions that emerge within the process: how what usually remains on the margins can become central material, how different working methodologies are shared, and how a new, collective one is formed through the process.

PUBLIC PRESENTATION
The interactive presentation includes a showing of selected excerpts, sharing impressions, writing associations, and a conversation about the process. Together with the audience, the artists will test parts of the methodology through simple collective tasks of observation and documentation, directly involving the audience in the research process.
This event is open to artists, the local community, and anyone interested in performing arts, with the aim of fostering dialogue and exchange.
