ABOUT THE PROJECT
Anatomy of a Moment: Deconstructing the Fall through Extreme Slow Motion is an artistic research project exploring the relationship between the body, time and cinematic perception through the technique of extreme slow motion. Beginning with the act of falling, the loss of balance and the micro-moments that precede movement, the project uses film as a tool for observing processes that remain invisible in real time.
Combining somatic practice, choreographic research and film experiments, the project investigates how slowing down time transforms our perception of physical effort, gravity and bodily presence. The residency focuses on developing practical tasks, researching movement and testing high-speed filming as a tool for understanding and reinterpreting choreography.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:  Anatomy of the Moment: Body, Time and Perception
The workshop explores the relationship between the body, time and perception through somatic and improvisational practices inspired by the artistic research project Anatomy of the Moment: Deconstructing the Fall through Extreme Slow Motion.
Working with breath, weight transfer, gravity and the anticipation of movement, participants will explore what happens immediately before an action takes place and how changing our perception of time influences the experience of movement.
The workshop is intended for dancers, performers and anyone interested in exploring the body and movement.
