Fabla Collective: Do Birds Dream of Flying? - performance 11.9.2026.
As part of the September edition of San Vincenti Dances, we will welcome Fabla Collective with Do Birds Dream of Flying?, one of the twenty works selected for Aerowaves Twenty26. Led by Inan Sven Du Swami and Mojca Špik, the performance art collective brings together circus, dance and physical theatre, exploring the relationship between body and object and the possibilities for movement that emerge from this interaction.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Do Birds Dream of Flying? is a performance in which two artists explore themes of balance, freedom and limitations through movement and an originally designed set piece. A rotating and swinging ladder opens up an aerial space usually inaccessible to the human body.
In this exploration, they question how to balance our relentless desire to discover the unknown with respectful care for existing natural and social ecosystems.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Fabla Collective is a performance art collective led by artists Inan Sven Du Swami and Mojca Špik. Their work blends circus, dance and physical theatre, exploring how movement can emerge from the interaction between body and object.
In recent years, their artistic research has focused on creating kinetic and dynamic set pieces that challenge them to discover movements that were previously impossible. They approach limits as opportunities to move differently. In their work, bodies and objects influence one another, revealing a dialogue between movement and mechanism, choreography and engineering, poetry and structure.
Fabla Collective has been selected by the European platform Aerowaves for Do Birds Dream of Flying?. Aerowaves is co-funded by the Creative Europe Platform Programme for the promotion of emerging artists of the European Commission.
