ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
The work explores space as a place of transformation—where traces of past movements and choreographies dissolve, are repurposed, and reshaped into new dance patterns. Inspired by the processes of recycling, Vučinić constructs regenerating structures, guided by the idea that energy is never lost but merely shifts from one form to another.
The performance incorporates fragments and materials from earlier Zagreb Dance Company works: The Devil’s Garden (David Hernandez, 2016), Staging a Play: Tartuffe (Matija Ferlin, 2017), Plac – Cai Shichang (Wen Hui, 2017), Anything (Daniel Abreu, 2013).
Through the bodies of current company members, these traces are recycled and transformed into new stage situations, creating a network of memories and transformations. The recycling process continues in the music—composer Melita Lovričević layers sound and joins the performance live, making the piece simultaneously a reconstruction, a reinterpretation, and a new work.
The premiere will take place at Žlinja as part of the Mediterranean Dance Center programme, a few days after segments of the performance are recorded in VR technology for the international project D. Dance Alliance.
