Ognjen Vučinić within Danube Dance Alliance project: Residency and presentation

As part of the international project D. Dance Alliance, the Mediterranean Dance Center hosted Istrian choreographer and performer Ognjen Vučinić, who began developing a new choreography in collaboration with dancers from the Zagreb Dance Company.
During the June residency, Vučinić explored the idea of space as a site of transformation — where previous movements and choreographies are melted down, repurposed, and reshaped. Inspired by recycling processes, the work investigates how energy — physical, emotional, or creative — is never lost, but transitions from one form to another. The dancers’ bodies carry traces of past dances, intertwine them into new patterns, and open up space for cyclical renewal.
On Saturday, June 14, Vučinić led a contemporary dance workshop, followed by a public showing and conversation with the audience.
