Milevoj/Užbinec/Ferlin: 'IN THE EYES'

'IN THE EYES' is a joint dance project by performers and choreographers Roberta Milevoj and Zrinka Užbinec where the starting point of scenic exploration is the idea of each other's observation as the main scenic and choreographic relationship.

The performers start from the assuption that the bodies exposed to each other carry layers of dance material conditioned by the history and traces of all previous performances and choreographic solutions and, during the process, repetitive performances and each other's observation, they develop dance material with the experience of the dance altered after the completion of the process, yet covered with the dancers' individual constitution. In such refined dance material, they find mutual support, choreographic inspiration and the theatrical experience of togetherness (or loneliness).

In collaboration with artists Matija Ferlin and Bojan Gagić, they create a dance performance which relies on the reshaping of the space of encounters and dance dialogue creation. A specific atmosphere is created by transforming the movements and the sound, and the dance duet becomes an homage to the other performer, as well as to the ones who are witness to their encounter.
