D. Dance Alliance: Partner Meeting in Velenje

From May 6 to 8, 2025, a working meeting of the D. Dance Alliance project partners took place in Velenje. The project is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. The host of the meeting was Festival Velenje, one of eight organisations participating in this international collaboration.

The meeting began with working sessions at Gallery Velenje, where partners exchanged updates on the project’s progress. They also visited Festival Velenje’s facilities, the local Coal Mining Museum, and explored lakeside locations as potential venues for future performances.

This year’s meeting in Velenje also marked the anniversary of the Balkan Dance Project, and included a public round table discussion titled What can dance offer for a better culture of living?

The final day featured a press conference at the Velenje Cultural Centre, where the D. Dance Alliance project was presented to local and national audiences, media representatives, and cultural professionals. Alongside the announcement of upcoming activities, the conference highlighted the importance of collaboration with local communities and the role of dance as a space for the meeting of different disciplines, experiences, and perspectives.
